    Hesai FTX is a 2nd-generation automotive-grade, fully solid-state LiDAR sensor purpose-built for close-range blind-spot detection on vehicles. 

    Using Hesai’s 4th-generation SPAD chip array with zero moving parts, the Hesai FTX LiDAR delivers an ultra-wide 180° horizontal x 140° vertical field of view from a housing small enough to hide behind a bumper, B-pillar, or rear panel closing the near-field perception gap that longer-range LiDAR and cameras can’t see.

    4th-Generation SPAD Chip Platform

    The Hesai FTX is built on Hesai’s self-developed 4th-generation SPAD (single-photon avalanche diode) chip array. This solid-state architecture removes all mechanical scanning parts, which is what allows the sensor to hit automotive-grade reliability targets across vibration, thermal cycling, and long-term duty cycles.

    Ultra-Wide 180° x 140° Coverage

    Where most short-range automotive LiDAR units top out around 120°–140° horizontal FOV, the Hesai FTX extends to a full 180° horizontal x 140° vertical field of view. That extra coverage is what lets a single unit watch an entire vehicle corner or side profile, rather than needing multiple narrower sensors stitched together.

    Compact, Concealed Mounting

    At 60 x 38.7 x 55 mm and roughly 160 g about 66% smaller than the previous Hesai short-range generation the FTX is designed for embedded mounting with only a 2 cm² optical window exposed. It’s built to disappear into a bumper, B-pillar, or rear body panel without disrupting the vehicle’s styling.

    Automotive-Grade Safety and Durability

    The sensor is certified to ISO 26262 ASIL-B functional safety and ISO 21434 automotive cybersecurity standards, and carries IP6K7 / IP6K9K ingress protection. Hesai states it has passed extreme temperature cycling, salt spray, vibration, and gravel-impact testing — the standard battery of tests for exterior-mounted automotive sensors.

    Low-Power, High-Resolution Output
